Blood Thinners
Blood thinners (or anti-coagulants) are used to prevent platelets from forming blood clots in your body. They are commonly used in the prevention of strokes and heart attacks. An irregular heartbeat, a heart valve replacement or a recent heart attack increase your risks of developing blood clots. Blood thinners help keep blood flowing smoothly in your body by decreasing the amount of certain substances (clotting proteins) in your blood.
